UPDATE - COVID 19 EMERGENCY WORKS LIMERICK
Construction works are progressing very well and on programme at both Croom Orthopaedic Hospital Limerick and at University Hospital Limerick.
The Croom Hospital extension includes new 24 single Bed Wards on the ground floor and provision at first floor level for 4 new state of the art UCV Canopy operating theatre suites, Theatre Recovery and a new Hospital Sterilising Services Department. As part of the sustainability and renewable energy approach, high efficiency air cooled liquid chillers and very efficient air to water heat pumps will provide the heating and cooling energy for the HVAC and general space heating systems. The rooftop plantroom has been designed to accommodate 12no Air Handling Units, Heating and Chilled water distribution services, Medical Air, Vacuum and AGSS systems, Water Treatment Plant and Storage Tanks, UPS and Static Inverters and Electrical Distribution Boards.
At University Hospital Limerick, construction works on the 24 single Bed Wards are at an advanced stage with the installation of main mechanical, electrical and medical piping services well underway. The combination of air to water heat pumps, efficient heat recovery systems, low specific fan power levels, efficient artificial lighting and effective BMS control systems, has contributed to the construction of a highly energy efficient building satisfying full NZEB compliance.
These projects will be delivered on time and within a very short timeframe, thanks to the excellent cooperation and communications between the contractors, design team and client.
